It's been almost eight months since Regis Philbin bid farewell to "Live!" - and fans are still waiting to find out who will replace the legendary TV host on the morning show.
And even Philbin thinks the search is going on for a long time.
"A little too long!" laughed Philbin, whom we caught up with at East Hampton's Guild Hall this weekend, where he and wife Joy took in a performance by Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin.
Reports point to Seth Meyers, Michael Strahan and Josh Groban as the front-runners to take Philbin's former spot alongside Kelly Ripa.
"I don't know who it's gonna be - honest to God," Philbin said.
Since leaving his post of 28 years, 80-year-old Philbin has been keeping busy with plenty of gigs, including hosting duties for NBC's July 4 fireworks show and a guest stint on sitcom "Hot in Cleveland."
"I'm doing two more episodes with Betty White on 'Hot in Cleveland,'" he said.
"We ended last season with two of us walking out the door, so what happened to Betty White and Pierre? People want to know. Somebody's gotta take care of Betty White, and it's me, sister!"
And, of course, the always-in shape Philbin has been hanging out at the gym.
"I work out!" he said before asking us to "grab a feel" of his biceps.
