Rewind: Get your action fix with 'The Mechanic'

"The Mechanic"

‘The Mechanic’
Having never seen the original Charles Bronson version of “The Mechanic,” I am unable to comment about how well the Jason Statham/Ben Foster version holds up. I can confirm, however, that Statham continues his streak of being a grade-A badass. He stars as a master assassin teaching the tricks of the trade to wannabe killer Ben Foster. This film doesn’t come close to capturing the thrills of some of Statham’s other films, such as “The Transporter” series, but for those of you in need of an action fix, you could do much worse than “The Mechanic.” (DVD, $28.95; Blu-ray, $34.95)
