Rewind: New 'Pirates' a better bounty

amNY -- pirates

amNY -- pirates

The fourth “Pirates of the Caribbean” film, “On Stranger Tides,” is far easier to watch than the past two middling sequels. Johnny Depp returns as Jack Sparrow, and this time he’s on the prowl for the Fountain of Youth. Adding Ian McShane as Blackbeard was a good idea, but losing Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley was by far the smartest casting decision. (DVD, $29.99; Blu-ray/DVD combo, $39.99; Blu-ray 3-D, Blu-ray, DVD combo, $49.99)
