'Star Trek: The Next Generation - Season One'
Upgrading to Blu-ray can be an expensive and sometimes worthless endeavor, especially when you're talking about older TV shows or movies. While "Star Trek: Next Generation's" new first season Blu-ray is pricey (though heavily discounted if you look around), it is certainly worth the upgrade. This set is transferred from the original film and, more importantly, the special effects have been redone for a more modern look. And no, this is not like what George Lucas did to "Star Wars" - this won't change the story or turn the show into a joke. As for the content itself, if you liked the show before, it's just as good. If you're new, it's a great place to start. (Blu-ray, $129.99)

'Jiro Dreams of Sushi'
This documentary about 85-year-old sushi chef Jiro Ono gets Anthony Bourdain's seal of approval, which is reason enough to behold the sumptuous treat. (DVD, $26.98; Blu-ray, $29.98)

'The Deep Blue Sea'
This British drama featuring Tom Hiddleston and Rachel Weisz is not to be confused with Samuel L. Jackson's shark thriller of the same name (minus the "The," of course). (DVD, $29.95; Blu-ray, $38.94)

'Treasure Island'
This new adaptation of the "Treasure Island" story, which aired on Syfy, features the top-notch cast of Eddie Izzard, Elijah Wood and Donald Sutherland. (DVD, $19.97; Blu-ray, $29.95)

'Silent House'
The younger Olsen sister Elizabeth stars in this horror flick about a haunted house. (DVD, $29.98; Blu-ray, $34.98)

TV on DVD
'Boss: Season 1' (DVD, $39.98; Blu-ray, $39.97)
'Childrens Hospital: The Complete Third Season' (DVD, $24.98)
'Touched By An Angel: The Fifth Season' (DVD, $55.98)
'The Untouchables: The Fourth Season' (Vols 1 or 2, $39.98 each)
