'The Social Network'
So, first off, whether you like Facebook or not is irrelevant: the fascinating story of the rise of the popular website by director David Fincher and writer Aaron Sorkin, is great — a compelling and wonderful piece of cinema entertainment. But what really makes this DVD and Blu-ray release are the extra-enticing special features: commentaries with Fincher and Sorkin, as well as a four-part making-of documentary. Time to hit the “Like” button. (DVD, $28.96; Blu-ray, $34.95)

Hands down, seeing “Piranha” in the theater was one of my favorite moviegoing experiences of last year. This is one funny, goofy and action-packed film, and it’s rife with awesome cameos and a healthy sense of why it exists in this world. This is just downright fun. (DVD, $28.95; Blu-ray, $39.95)

‘Universe: Complete Season 5’
Get ready to find out all about the planets, magnetic storms, time travel and other sciencey stuff. Go ahead and learn something for once, will ya? (DVD, $29.95; Blu-ray, $39.95)

‘Hot in Cleveland: Season One’
When TV Land’s new sitcom about three Hollywood types who move to Ohio hits syndication, will they still run it on TV Land? Either way, it’ll have Betty White, which is more than enough for us. (DVD, $26.98)

‘Sordid Lives: The Series’
Not settling for just one “Golden Girl” in today’s Rewind, the late Rue McClanahan’s short-lived series hits today as well. (DVD, $39.98; Blu-ray, $49.98)

‘Louis C.K.: Hilarious’
This is not an overstatement: Louis C.K. is, in fact, hilarious. (DVD, $16.99)

‘The Freebie’
The underrated Dax Shepard stars with Katie Aselton in this gem of an indie relationship drama. (DVD, $29.99)

‘Alpha and Omega’
This animated snooze was Dennis Hopper’s final film. I know. (DVD, $29.95; Blu-ray, $39.99)
