Over the past 24 hours, rumors have been been jostling around Twitter that Riccardo Tisci may replace the wayward John Galliano at Dior.
On Tuesday, Harper's Bazaar contributor Derek Blasberg tweeted: "I was just told backstage at the @KatyPerry concert (of all places!) that Riccardo Tisci is CONFIRMED at Dior."
The Tisci buzz (which has been circulating for days) hasn't been confirmed, but it sparked a retweet revolution, with one earnest tweeter even replying: "My cousin who works at Dior said earlier it was pretty much a done deal."
Other names that have been tossed around include Lanvin's beloved designer Alber Elbaz, whose prospects — again, thank you Twitter — seem to have risen even more due to a tweet by Style.com: "Not to add to the Dior rumor mill, but people in Paris are asking, why has the Lanvin team been in tears all day?" Of course, they could just be having some fun with the speculation, which has been rampant since Galiano was canned from Dior for making alleged anti-semitic remarks, including "I love Hitler" last week.
