This past weekend, the 6th annual Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival came to town. All over the city, hungry people, industry insiders, writers, chefs and New Yorkers came together to eat, drink and indulge.

amNewYork attended a few events and snapped pictures at each: 

The Chef and the Doctor dinner, hosted by renowned chef David Bouley and the New York Times bestselling author of "The Blood Sugar Solution" Dr. Mark Hyman, was held Friday night at the Bouley Test Kitchen in TriBeCa. Over decadent appetizers and dinner, Bouley and Hyman discussed the importance of changing our thinking about food. 

"There's more to food than the calories," said Hyman. "We need a food revolution."

Hyman's new book, "The Blood Sugar Solution Cookbook," is out now and features recipes for good health. 

The Gotham West Market opening party on Friday night showcased food from Ivan Orkin's Ivan Ramen Slurp Shop, sandwiches from Carroll Gardens market and deli Court Street Grocers, cocktails prepared by the team at the Brooklyn Kitchen in Williamsburg and tapas from Seamus Mullen's El Colmado. 

On Saturday, all things local were celebrated at the Taste NY Brunch at the Lighthouse at Pier 61, Chelsea Piers. The event was sponsored by Gov. Andrew Cuomo and showcased restauranteurs using local products and food, wine and liquor producers from across the Empire State.
