Investigators continue to be stymied over the disappearance of a 22-year-old Richmond City, Va. student who went missing in Manhattan two weeks ago.

Burnet, who arrived in Manhattan on Dec. 26, was staying with friends at 139th St. and Riverside Drive when he vanished, leaving behind his phone, wallet, laptop and iPod. His family has turned to the web for help using Reddit and a Facebook page, “Find Ian Burnet,” which had more than 2,000 members yesterday. They’ve also plastered posters all over the city.

His sister, Jamie, wrote in response to a query on Reddit, “there’s a very real possibility that he took his own life, and I’m trying not to think about it.”

Cops have entered Ian Hunter Burnet, a Virginia Commonwealth University student “into every data base we could possibly enter him into,” said Det. Farrar Howard, of the New Kent Co., Va., Sheriff’s Office, where his parents, Mark and Nancy Burnet, filed a missing person report.

Investigators also hacked Burnet’s cell phone, which he left behind on Dec. 30 shortly after texting his roommate, and followed up all credible tips, but still have no leads, Howard said.

“There are no signs of foul play or criminal activity,” said Howard, adding that the lack of evidence pointing to his whereabouts “is extremely frustrating.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the 30th Precinct at: 212-690-8842.
