The son of an Oscar-winning songwriter was indicted Thursday in the death of a swimsuit fashion designer at the posh Soho House hotel, but the charges were kept sealed.
The Manhattan grand jury’s charges against Nicholas Brooks, 24, in the death of his ex-girlfriend will stay secret until his arraignment Jan. 4. He will remain in custody until then.
Brooks, whose father wrote “You Light Up My Life” and is himself facing charges of serial rape, was previously charged with strangulation and attempted murder in the death of Sylvie Cachay, 33.
She was found dead in a bathtub last week at the chic hotel in the Meatpacking District. The cause of death remains unknown.
