In their first game action since being placed on the disabled list, Yankees Mark Teixeira and Kevin Youkilis went hitless in a rehab assignment with Double-A Trenton Wednesday.

Youkilis, who batted third, flew out to rightfield in the bottom of the first inning, popped out in foul territory in the fourth inning and drew a walk in the sixth.

Teixeira hit cleanup behind Youkilis and went 0-2 with a pop out to shortstop, a strikeout and a walk.

Manager Joe Girardi told reporters that the team may activate both players in time for tomorrow’s matchup against the Boston Red Sox.

“I think it’s a possibility for both of them,” Girardi said. “I have said all along it depends on how they feel, physically and mentally, is when you decide to activate them.”

The Yankees will play the Mets in the Bronx tonight in the final game of the Subway Series.
