Next time you're on the subway, make sure you pay attention: Your fellow riders could be the cast of "The Lion King."

The show's Broadway cast gave a car of New York City subway riders a big surprise on June 28 with a performance of the show's anthem "The Circle of Life." Cast member Jamal Lee Harris posted the video to YouTube on Tuesday, and it has tallied nearly 1.7 million views since.

The video shows the train roll into the 59th Street station, then the cast in the train car engaging in normal subway activity — reading and fiddling with smartphones and headphones.

That is, until Nteliseng Nkhela, who plays Rafiki in the show, turns heads when she wails out the telltale opening notes of "The Circle of Life." The rest of the cast joins in, and other riders slowly realize they're among stars on the subway.

The performance ends with whoops, applause and high-fives — showing once again that "The Circle of Life" really does move us all.
