Brooklyn Cyclones Opening Day: The Cyclones take on the Staten Island Yankees in their first home game of the season. (Saturday, 6:30 p.m., MCU Park, 1904 Surf Ave., Coney Island, brooklyncyclones.com)

Katy Perry: The bubblegum pop princess brings her "California Dreams" tour to the East Coast. (Friday, Nassau Coliseum; Sunday, Prudential Center, katyperry.com/tours)

Come Out and Play Festival: The COaP Festival will turn the city into a playground, hosting street games that include old favorites and new inventions. The fun kicks off this weekend and goes all summer. (Saturday through July 16, various locations, comeoutandplay.org)

BAM Cinemafest: This two-week film festival celebrates the best of contemporary indie filmmaking. Each screening will be followed by a Q&A with the film's director. (Friday through June 26., Bam.org)
