They had enough of Bill O’Reilly’s “views.”
“The View” co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar walked off their morning talk show’s set during Thursday’s interview of the fiery Fox News personality after he said “Muslims killed us on 9/11.”
The uproar began when “The O’Reilly Factor” host blamed President Barack Obama’s declining approval ratings partly on his support of building a mosque near Ground Zero.
“Let me break this to you. Seventy percent of Americans don’t want that mosque down there,” O’Reilly asserted.
“Because it’s inappropriate,” O’Reilly added. “The Muslims killed us on 9/11.”
Goldberg, a liberal, retorted “bulls--t” back at the conservative commentator. Then Behar jumped from her seat, exclaimed, “I don’t want to sit here now” and stormed off. Whoopi followed her close behind.
Co-host Barbara Walters chastised her colleagues, telling her audience,
“You have just seen what should not happen.”
She then turned to O’Reilly and condemned his statement.
“If anybody felt that I was demeaning all Muslims, I apologize,” O’Reilly said.
Behar and Goldberg then promptly reemerged — “because now you apologized,” Behar said.
