Waitresses sue Boom Boom Room for sex discrimination

Two cocktail waitresses have filed suit against the swanky Boom Boom Room, alleging they were wrongly fired for not having enough va-va-voom.

Faye Rex, 24, and Stephanie Jaggers, 27, allege in their $500,000 gender discrimination suit that they had received stellar job reviews at the Meatpacking District nightclub atop The Standard Hotel until a summer renovation project also prompted management to demand a new look for employees — statuesque and runway-model stunning.

Following the posh redecoration, the women were told that their work was not “up to par” and then were booted, according to the suit filed Monday in a Manhattan court.

Rex and Jaggers “are beautiful women, but they’re not tall, willowy, skinny women,” which the Boom Boom Room now prefers to complement its new décor, said their attorney, Richard Roth, who guessed that Rex was 5’3” and Jaggers was 5’4.”

A spokeswoman for the hotel said the hotel had no comment on the litigation.

Roth said his suit is based on unequal treatment of the sexes. “If they had the same requirements for men,” there would be no lawsuit, he said.

The Boom Boom Room is reknown in gossip sheets for its sexy atmosphere, stratospherically expensive drinks, and for attracting models, designers and celebs such as Jude Law, Lindsay Lohan and Madonna.
