Weekend storm postpones F and G train work

Brooklyn straphangers who were facing hellish commutes starting this weekend are getting at least a one-week reprieve because of the forecasted snowstorm Friday.

The MTA had originally planned crucial track and signal work on a viaduct that would have forced F and G train riders to lose service between Jay Street-MetroTech and Church Avenue this weekend and at various other Brooklyn stops beginning Monday and lasting until June.

The snowstorm also brings good news for those who would have faced other subway service disruptions this weekend, as all station construction and maintenance work has been suspended, transit officials said.
