The winner of that monstrous $600 million Powerball jackpot has finally come forward.
Gloria Mackenzie, 84, was identified around 3 p.m. Wednesday at a news conference at the Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee. (She declined to make an appearance.)
The lucky winner of last month’s $590.5 million Powerball lottery bought the $2 ticket at a Publix supermarket in Zephyrhills, according to USA Today.
The winning numbers — 10, 13, 14, 22 and 52 — were chosen May 18, and Mackenzie had 60 days to claim her prize, worth pre-tax about $370 million.
Mackenzie’s win is the biggest single-ticket payout in U.S. lottery history. After accumulating for two months, the drawing exceeded the previous record Powerball payout of $587.5 million in November 2012.
