A sick commuter escaped serious injury when she tumbled onto a train track at Grand Central Terminal Thursday morning.
The unidentified woman, described as being approximately 30 years old, became dizzy shortly after exiting a Metro-North train from Hartsdale just after 8:30 a.m. and fell on the track directly in front of the stationary railcar, transit officials said.
MTA workers quickly turned off the power to the electrified third rail and police lifted the woman off the track within a few minutes, according to an MTA spokesman, who said the woman was “not in any sort of danger” from the train.
EMS workers took the conscious woman to Bellevue Hospital with minor injuries. A hospital spokeswoman did not have an update to her condition Thursday.
