First Jason Wu launched a lower-priced collaboration with Target, and now the high-end designer - who's designed for the likes of Michelle Obama and Michelle Williams - is ready to debut a contemporary line.
The line, dubbed Miss Wu by Jason Wu, is set to hit the racks in January 2013, and will embody many of Wu's signatures - gorgeous fabrics, exclusive prints and detailing - according to the New York-based design house, which announced the news Wednesday.
The debut collection will be carried exclusively at Nordstrom stores and nordstrom.com, while there are plans to expand to additional retailers in 2014.
The 40-piece spring/summer collection will include dresses, pants, jackets, skirts, knits and blouses that will range between $195 and $795.
Described as "cheerful," the collection includes whimsical prints, Wu's signature "hand-painted stripes," and bright tweed dresses and jackets. The collection has a 1960s inspiration.
"I felt that there was a place in the ever-growing designer contemporary market for these feminine and sophisticated pieces," Wu said in a statement Wednesday.
