Oliver Stone's 'Snowden' pushed back to 2016

Director Oliver Stone's biographical drama "Snowden" starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Edward Snowden, the expatriate former government contractor who released classified data, has been moved from its Christmas Day release to sometime in 2016, The Hollywood Reporter said Monday. Distributor Open Road Films did not comment on the magazine's report, which noted that numerous other high-profile films are being released Dec. 25, with "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" opening Dec. 18. The 2014 Snowden documentary "CitizenFour," which Stone co-wrote, won the Academy Award for documentary feature.
