The monorail system at Walt Disney World suffered a power failure early this morning, stranding passengers near The Magic Kingdom, WKMG in Orlando is reporting.
The outage took place around 1:15 a.m.. By 3:15, passengers told WKMG that the conditions inside the monorail was "stuffy, muggy and hot."
Several months ago a monorail operator was killed in a crash between two trains. Austin Wuennenberg was the first death in the history of the Disney Monorail system.
Disney World has released a statement: "Our commitment to safety guides all we do, and this is the type of situation we train for with Reedy Creek. We extend our apologies to guests who were affected and are working directly with them."
