The public will soon have the opportunity to listen to a rare collection of 9/11 oral histories.
The collection and a rotating exhibit of artifacts from Sept. 11 are expected to be unveiled Thursday, and will be featured at a listening station at the 9/11 Memorial Preview Site in Manhattan.
Many of the audio recordings and items will become part of the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, which is under construction.
The public will be able to hear intimate accounts of how Sept. 11, 2001, and its aftermath were experienced. The accounts will be paired with materials that support the stories.
Among the items to be included is an auto-racing jacket cherished by 9/11 victim Karen Juday and donated by her fiance. He contributed an oral history. - AP
