Woman bit police officer during arrest, wouldn't let go, cops say

ABERDEEN, N.J. - A central New Jersey woman is accused of biting a police officer and refusing to let go.

The Asbury Park Press reports that Aberdeen Township police responded to a reported street brawl Saturday night. They found several people at the scene when they arrived, but no fighting was occurring.

Officers soon encountered 25-year-old township resident Jennifer Loughlin, who they say was uncooperative and disorderly. When they tried to arrest her, police say she resisted and bit one of the officers on the arm.

Authorities say Loughlin refused to let go until officers intervened. She's charged with aggravated assault and is free on $15,000 bail.

The officer was treated at a hospital and later released.

It's not known if Loughlin has retained an attorney.
