Police charge driver after crashing into jail

HACKENSACK, N.J. - (AP) -- A driver has crashed into a jail in New Jersey.

Police say the 51-year-old South Hackensack man struck the administrative entrance of the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack Friday afternoon.

The driver has been hospitalized with non life-threatening injuries, and no one inside the jail was hurt.

Police say the area holding inmates was not impacted.

The driver is facing charges of causing damage to the building, burglary and criminal mischief.

Police say more charges could be pending.

The cause of the crash has not been released.
