Richman's putback is a winner for Roslyn boys

Jordan Richman's putback with one second left off Tom Gloznek's missed shot from the top of the key gave Roslyn a a 51-49 victory over Jericho Tuesday in Nassau Conference ABC-II boys basketball.

Richman finished with 24 points, 13 rebounds and seven blocks. Nick Hadzibabic made the second of two free throws with 42 seconds left to tie it at 49 for Roslyn (1-0), which twice stopped Jericho with less than 15 seconds left to set up the winner.

South Side 64, Hewlett 47: Leon Taylor had 26 points, eight rebounds and six assists to lead South Side (1-0) in Conference A-I. Brett Cohen added 18 points and 13 rebounds. Michael Eckerle had 12 points for Hewlett (0-1).

Elmont 74, Westbury 71: Dominique Williams (18 points) forced overtime for Elmont on a putback with three seconds left, and Isaiah Watson (21 points) and Williams each hit a three-pointer in overtime for Elmont (1-0) in Conference ABC-I. Paris Abrams had a game-high 23 points for Westbury (0-1).

Floral Park 66, West Hempstead 62: Shamoy McIntosh had 19 of his 24 points in the second half to lead Floral Park (1-0), which went on a 19-2 fourth-quarter run to pull away in ABC-I. Justin Wilson added 21 points for Floral Park. Jamel Flash had 22 for West Hempstead.

Central Islip 45, Lindenhurst 44: Tim McKenzie scored four points in the last two minutes to put Central Islip (4-0) within one point and Kadeem Barnes made two foul shots with 29 seconds left to seal it in League II. Kamil Parzych led Lindenhurst with 17 points.Bay Shore 68, Sachem North 60: Brandon Turner totaled 26 points and John Horowitz made two free throws with 24 seconds remaining to put Bay Shore (3-0) up 66-60 in League II.Newfield 54, Half Hollow Hills East 50: Maurice Hall had a steal, layup and free throw for Newfield (2-0) to break a 50-50 tie with 44 seconds left in League III. Eddie Wenzel added 14 points.

Smithtown East 48, West Islip 42: Andrew Castello's layup as he was fouled with 1:05 left in the fourth quarter gave Smithtown East (2-0) its first lead of the second half at 42-41 in League III. He missed the ensuing free throw, but Jon Feiler (12 points, 16 rebounds) made the putback to make it 44-41. Nick Galasso had 18 points for for West Islip (0-1).

Half Hollow Hills West 72, Copiague 53: Tobias Harris had 28 points, 18 rebounds and five blocks and Tavon Sledge had 15 points, 10 assists and seven steals to lead Hills West (2-0) in League IV.Smithtown West 56, Riverhead 50: Willie Rueda had 21 points and 10 rebounds and Kevin Kumpfbeck 18 points for Smithtown West (1-1) in League IV. Sayville 41, Comsewogue 40: Neil Fishenden (12 points) hit two three-pointers in the final minute to erase a 40-35 deficit and win it for Sayville (1-4) in League V. Chris Lowe added 13 points and eight rebounds.

Wyandanch 55, Hampton Bays 49: Qualice Jones had 16 points, six rebounds and four assists to lead Wyandanch (3-0) in League VII. Sophomore Alexander Williams had 10 points and a career-high 15 rebounds.

Southold 59, Greenport 49: Jon Cepelak had 20 points and seven rebounds for Southold (3-0) in League VIII. Southold made 16 free throws in the fourth quarter to seal it.St. Anthony's 57, Chaminade 41: Rex Gordon had 17 points to lead St. Anthony's (2-0) in CHSAA. Chaminade is 0-1.
