Rosen, Doody lead Lynbrook girls victory

Jessy Rosen scored 16 points for Lynbrook in a 46-36 non-league girls basketball victory at East Rockaway Saturday. Shannon Doody had eight points and five assists for Lynbrook (4-2). Leanna Degiulio led East Rockaway (4-1) with 16 points.Island Trees 26, Valley Stream South 20: Maggie Milonakis scored a game-high 16 points, including 5 of 6 free throws with under a minute to play, for Island Trees (1-0) in Conference ABC-IV. She also hit three three-pointers and grabbed nine rebounds. Jessica Beissel added 10 rebounds and three assists. Valley Stream South is 0-2.Trinity (Va). 52, Massapequa 45: Jackie Tierney scored seven points and was named Massapequa's team MVP at the Disney Classic in Orlando. Taylor Elliot led Massapequa (3-2) with nine points.

Ward Melville 57, Islip 27: Kaitlyn Carballeria had 19 points, 20 rebounds and four blocks for Ward Melville (3-1) at the Under Armour Classic at St. John the Baptist. Georgia Holland added 15 points and six assists for the Patriots. Kerri Duer led Islip (1-4) with 10 points.

Lindenhurst 46, Amityville 34: Colleen Ames scored 15 points, including a three-pointer with 1:30 remaining to make it an eight-point game, for Lindenhurst (4-2) in the Amityville Tournament final. Randy Zorn scored eight of her 11 points in a 13-7 third quarter for Lindenhurst. Raven Price led Amityville (3-1) with 15 points.

Rocky Point 46, Newfield 38: Eighth-grader Annie Kennedy had 15 points, six assists and seven rebounds to lead Rocky Point (2-2) in a non-league contest. Hope Heiselman made four three-pointers and scored 18 points. Newfield is 0-5.
