Zawoluk sets St. John's scoring mark
Center Bob Zawoluk scored a school-record 65 points as St. John's trounced St. Peter's, 105-61, at DeGray Gymnasium in Brooklyn. The Redmen topped 100 points in a game for the first time in their 43-season history. Zawoluk, a Brooklyn native, was also the first player in school history to average more than 20 points, and his single-game record still stands. He totaled 588 points during that season, marking the first time a Redmen player went over the 500-point mark.
