The National Weather Service said Tuesday evening brings the chance for isolated thunderstorms coming through around midnight.
Whatever might come would be "pretty spotty and not widespread," said Kevin Kacan, weather service meteorologist based in Upton. Powerful storms had ripped through the area in Tuesday's pre-dawn hours, leaving more than 40,000 without power.
Wednesday should have highs in the mid-80s for most of Long Island, with a slight chance for thunderstorms in the afternoon, he said.
Temperatures go down to the lower 80s on Thursday, he said.
