The start of the workweek gets mostly sunny skies and daily highs near 80 degrees across Long Island, the National Weather Service said.
News 12 Long Island meteorologist Rich Hoffman said Monday gets the occasional mix of sun and clouds but will be mostly sunny with a high ultraviolet radiation index.
The weather service said incoming high pressure settles over the Northeast starting Monday and generates a warming trend for the next few days.
Hoffman said that means warmer and more humid conditions as the week goes on. Look for highs in the low 80s Tuesday, the mid 80s on Wednesday and Thursday, and highs Friday into the low 90s, he said.
Monday night turns partly cloudy with dry, cool conditions, he said, and winds shift to the south-southwest.
Overnight lows are in the mid 60s.
