Cold, breezy and dry conditions unfurl over Long Island Thursday, the National Weather Service said.
The service’s Upton office calls for daily highs in the low to mid 30s across Nassau and Suffolk counties with north winds at 7 to 14 mph.
Windchill values will make it feel like between 20 and 25 degrees, the service said.
But blue, mostly sunny skies prompted News 12 Long Island meteorologist Rich Hoffman to call Thursday a “good car wash day.” Hoffman also said even milder weather is ahead for the weekend.
Skies remain clear Thursday night and into Friday morning, Hoffman said. Overnight lows are around 20 degrees with light winds.
Morning sunshine Friday gives way to some afternoon clouds and a chance of precipitation during the nighttime hours, either rain or a wintry mix, with overnight temperatures in the low to mid 30s.
Hoffman said Saturday looks to be partly sunny and mild, with highs near 50.
On Sunday, it’s another mostly sunny day with clouds moving in during the afternoon. Daily highs in the upper 40s to low 50s are expected.
