A freeze warning is in effect for Saturday morning in Suffolk County, the National Weather Service said.
The warning, from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m., means temperatures are expected to fall around or in the lower 30s.
"These conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation," the weather service said.
Temperatures into the weekend are expected to be a little chillier than normal, the National Weather Service said.
News 12 Long Island meteorologist Rich Hoffman said daily highs for the weekend will be slightly below normal and that there's a chance to break the daily low Saturday of 36 degrees set in 2012.
Daily highs Saturday and Sunday across Nassau and Suffolk counties could reach 60 with partly cloudy skies and overnight lows in the low to mid 40s.
