Long Island’s Thursday weather looks to be sunny with cool, breezy northwest winds, the National Weather Service said.
Daily highs are a bit cooler — in the low 70s — compared with some recent days.
Winds are at 16 to 20 mph with some gusts, the service’s Upton office said.
News 12 Long Island meteorologist Rich Hoffman calls for “lots of sunshine” Thursday, saying some wind gusts could reach 30 mph.
Hoffman said it’s “mostly dry” across Nassau and Suffolk counties for the next seven days or so, with the best chance of rain late in the day Saturday and into Saturday night.
Thursday night brings more clear skies with winds subsiding slightly. Overnight lows mostly are in the low to mid 50s.
Friday opens with mostly sunshine, and breezy conditions persist. Daily highs are in the low to mid 70s.
The weekend warms slightly. Saturday highs are in the mid 70s; Sunday highs range from the mid 70s to 80 degrees, Hoffman said.
