Dry, sunny conditions continue Tuesday with daily highs across Long Island reaching the mid- to upper 70s, the National Weather Service said.
High pressure gradually builds through Tuesday night before starting to weaken Wednesday, keeping conditions dry and clear until late Thursday, the service’s Upton office said.
News 12 Long Island meteorologist Rich Hoffman said northwest winds are lighter than the past few days, at 5 to 15 mph, but some gusts could reach 20 mph.
“Mostly clear skies, a little cool,” Hoffman said describing Tuesday night. Overnight lows are in the mid to upper 50s.
Wednesday is a mix of sun and clouds with daily highs in the lower 80s, Hoffman said.
Winds are west-southwest at 5 to 10 mph.
