Get set for a mild spring week on Long Island.

The highs Sunday and Monday will reach 68 to 69 degrees, said Lauren Nash, meteorologist with the National Weather Service's office in Upton. Lows Sunday will be in the mid 40s, with lows Monday in the mid to upper 40s.

A chance of showers appears Monday, but Nash said the precipitation is not expected to be heavy.

"We're not looking at any kind of washout," she said.

Tuesday's high will be in the low 70s -- slightly higher than average. The average for this time of year in Islip is 68, Nash said.

Tuesday night will be in the lower 50s.

Highs Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will be in the upper 60s, with lows in the low 50s. Showers also are possible Thursday and Friday.
