After a cloudy start Sunday, it will become sunny midmorning, forecasters said, and this week, temperatures will fluctuate between average and cooler than normal.
For this time of year "the average high is 49 so we're going to start out around there, get cooler in the middle of the week and then come back (to average) at the end of the week," said Carlie Buccola, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service at Upton.
Sunday's high will be near 50 degrees and at night it will be clear and cool with a low of 33.
The workweek begins with a sunny outlook for Monday when the high will drop a bit to 46 degrees, and it will become partly cloudy at night when the low will be 38.
Tuesday brings the first chance of rain. "There'll be a 40 percent chance during the day when the high will be 53, and a night rain is likely -- a 70 percent chance," Buccola said. The nighttime low will be a relatively warm 49, and the rain is expected to continue into Wednesday.
Wednesday will be cloudy with a high of 58. "At night there'll be gradual clearing, becoming partly cloudy with a low of 39," Buccola said.
The sun returns on Thursday when the high will drop back to 50, and at night it will be clear with a low of 38.
More sun is expected Friday when the high will be 51, but it gets partly cloudy at night when the low will be 38.
