Chris Stevens, the U.S. ambassador to Libya, information manager Sean Smith, former Navy SEAL Glen Doherty and one other American were killed in an attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi. The embassy attack was originally thought to have stemmed from protesters angry about a film that ridiculed Islam's Prophet Muhammad, but is now thought to be a terrorist attack by al-Qaida.
