Iraqis vote for new parliament

Iraqis voted for a new parliament on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, under tight security in the first nationwide balloting since the pullout of American troops in 2011. Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki is seeking is third four-year term; the Shiite leader faces growing criticism over government corruption and persistent bloodshed as sectarian tensions threaten to push Iraq back toward the brink of civil war.
