Powerful earthquake shakes Nepal, Mount Everest

A powerful earthquake with an epicenter not far from Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, struck Saturday, April 25, 2015, causing death and destruction across four countries and triggering avalanches on Mount Everest. The 7.8 temblor was the worst to hit in the region in more than 80 years. Aftershocks, particularly a 6.6 shake on Sunday, kept residents in the streets of cities and villages.
