We were happy to read the letter addressing senior living options for Plainview-Old Bethpage . We sold our home in Old Bethpage to our son and daughter-in-law six years ago. We now reside in a small Plainview 55-plus community, and we are loving it. Our grandchildren are being raised and educated in the very same surroundings, and we are able to appreciate it firsthand, not from long distance.

We have lots of friends and relatives who yearn for the same opportunity. We encourage additional choices for seniors to downsize yet remain where their hearts are!

Bob and Barbara Greenspon, Plainview

I have lived in Plainview for 52 years and have watched it grow into a thriving community. I disagree that Country Pointe would be "urban sprawl" ["Housing plan too dense for Plainview," Letters, March 12].

As a senior, I have hopes for such a development so that I will be able to downsize and still live in the town I love.

Marlene Krakauer, Plainview
