The article about $40 million in improvements to the Massapequa train station said the Long Island Rail Road would be adding a short rail spur so that it could handle more train traffic and allow more trains to start from there ["LIRR station to get face-lift," News, May 18].
This sounds good, and I hope it helps, but it seems to me that the LIRR is leaving out the most important improvement: parking. At virtually every station, including Massapequa, parking is a big problem. Why doesn't the LIRR build a two-story parking structure at the station?
