I am writing in response to the letter "State's flawed plan to eliminate swans" [May 12]. Unfortunately swans can be extremely aggressive and endanger people. There is a pair of mating swans by my house, and the male is extremely aggressive.
Last year, I witnessed three young girls on a Jet Ski being chased by the swan in flight. Fortunately, the girls got away.
A week later, I was returning from a ride on my Jet Ski when I was chased by the same swan in flight. Now my girlfriend and I are afraid to go on our Jet Ski or paddleboat. After these two incidents, I called the state Department of Environmental Conservation.
The swans should be relocated for human safety.
