I just don’t understand train crashes that are caused by driver fatigue or sleep apnea [“Feds: Test train operators for sleep apnea” Dec. 3].

Commercial flights have co-pilots, but trains don’t. In many cases, trains carry a lot more people. Can somebody please tell me why there is no co-pilot? Surely people’s lives are worth a lot more.
