Letter: Beaches, a well as woods, energize us

Every word of columnist Michael Dobie’s “How the woods love us back” [Opinion, June 19] is true.

However, Long Island restricts our shinrin-yoku experiences to our Nassau and Suffolk greenbelt trails, so I offer an equally viable place to commune with nature: our beaches.

How many of us have rushed to see a spectacular sunset, made all the more glorious by the sand and the sea? North Shore, South Shore or East End, it doesn’t matter. Head for the nearest beach, and live life to the fullest.
