Letter: Brexit voters are the 99 percent

Supporters hold a banner during a pro-European Union

What an arrogant, elitist and anti-democratic cartoon by Matt Davies who depicted Brexit voters as “voting hooligans” [Opinion, June 28].

It used to be that ultra-liberals like Davies were loyal supporters of those in the working class and lower middle class. These people don’t have lobbyists or a platform from which they can voice their complaints.

Ignoring their plight has been successfully accomplished by everyone who has enjoyed the fruits of this rigged, artificial and manipulated economy. The only tool in the working class toolbox is the ability to express its frustration in the voting booth — only to be ridiculed by those who think they know better.
