The story detailing the conviction of former Nassau County Legis. Roger Corbin on receiving a bribe and official misconduct requires comment ["Bribery verdict," News, July 18].

Nowhere in the story is there a reference to Corbin's political affiliation or that of his co-defendant, former county Legis. Patrick Williams. Both are Democrats.

Would Newsday have omitted the duo's political affiliation if either man were a Republican? I think not. This is an example of tailoring reporting to advance a liberal, pro-Democratic agenda.
