Two major colleges on Long Island, both in significant trouble [“Dowling faces new hurdle” and “NCC put on probation by accrediting agency,” News, June 29]. Dowling loses accreditation and Nassau Community College is on probation.

NCC’s Board of Trustees has been fiddling around, leaving the presidency open for years. Dowling has had a revolving door as presidents have been hired and let go, and the trustees have mismanaged the college into $54 million in debt and into oblivion!
