Letter: Finish bike path from Tobay Beach

Thank you for your recent attention to bicycling on Long Island ["Anxiety on 2 wheels," News, June 7].

One thing that would improve the number and safety of riders here is the Wantagh bike path. It now terminates at Tobay Beach, but should be extended to Captree State Park.

This was the original plan to establish a path uninterrupted by cross streets. It would be accessible to Nassau and Suffolk riders and free of the noise and pollution that hover over other paths. It would provide magnificent views of the bay and ocean and would be a huge attraction for riders from all over.
