As a 50-year resident of Carle Place, I remember well having frogs in our garden and no mosquitoes ["We welcome mosquito eaters," Editorial, July 5]. It was so nice to sit outdoors and not be bitten or worry about West Nile virus.

Our town was originally called Frog Hollow. Our town newsletter is the "Frog Horn." Our high school's emblem is the frog. Frogs belong in Carle Place!
