I’m still shaking my head in disbelief after reading about the assault charge against Mamadou Diallo, a Bronx cabdriver [“Man who cops say killed attacker freed,” News, June 2].
If he were my husband and let Earl Nash escape after Nash allegedly hit and tried to rape Diallo’s wife, being in jail would be preferable to living in the house with me.
Diallo fought with Nash in a hallway outside of their apartment, where Diallo hit Nash with a tire iron. Nash later died at a hospital.
Diallo does not deserve to be charged in the death; rather, he deserves a medal.
