Letter: In favor of Caithness II plant

Not only would Caithness II lower our electricity bills, as reported in "Caithness study: New power plant could save millions" [News, April 16], but it would also benefit the environment. We need cleaner, more reliable energy than we currently have.

Many of Long Island's power plants are too old and inefficient.. By delaying approval of Caithness II, PSEG Long Island continues to force Long Island consumers to rely on these aging plants.

In addition, Caithness II would create hundreds of new jobs during construction and help bring private investment to Long Island.
