Letter: Is Mastic Beach spending wisely?

In the story "Costly standoff" [News, Feb. 3], Mastic Beach Village Trustee Gail Cappiello said the village would appeal if a judge rules against its effort to control waterfront property.

I cannot believe a trustee would continue to ignore her fiduciary responsibility to the taxpayers. How much money has the village wasted on this lawsuit?

Add this lawsuit to the list of ill-advised expenditures that the village board has made, including the nutrition center, the public works yard, the fill on Riviera Drive, unreadable street signs and vehicles for employees.

Where is the village government that residents were promised to have a say in?
